What Causes Several Bruise Like Spots On Body?

I have several spots that I think are bruises but probably look more like pink splotches mainly on my right side but some on my left side also. I first noticed them last week and really hadn t thought any more about them until I noticed them again today. They still look the same as last week but more of them. What could be causing it?

A bruise or “contusion” appears on the skin when it has suffered trauma such as a cut or a blow to the area. The injury causes tiny blood vessels called capillaries to burst, and the blood gets trapped below the skin's surface. Bruises can occur on the body at any age.
A regular bruise is more spread out and may not feel like a firm lump. A hematoma usually is not a cause for concern. It is not the same thing as a blood clot in a vein, and it does not cause blood clots. Bruises that do not appear to be caused by an accidental injury may be caused by abuse.
When you first get a bruise, it's kind of reddish as the blood appears under the skin. Within 1 or 2 days, the hemoglobin (an iron-containing substance that carries oxygen) in the blood changes and your bruise turns bluish-purple or even blackish. After 5 to 10 days, the bruise turns greenish or yellowish.
