What Causes Several Subconjunctival Hemorrhages After Colonoscopy?

After having a colonoscopy and upper GI endoscopy, I woke up with a black eye and several subconjunctival hemorrhages. (This is the left eye, which is the one I was lying on under anesthesia.) 6 months later my left eye is still yellow and there is some nerve damage. What happened? My doctor is clueless. I am a 29 year old female, 5'8 and 145lbs. It turned out I have chronic gastritis and a hiatal hernia, if that helps.
