What Causes Severe Abdominal And Back Pain?
I went to er last week with severe abdominal and back pain. I got a cortisone shot last Friday and since then back is better. In the er they could not find anything except diverticulosis which I have had before. Went to Drs two days ago because the pain worsened and had chills and diarrhea. She gave me something to take before I ate. I have put myself on a bland diet thinking this might help. Today the pain has retuned along with diarrhea.

Your symptoms seem to be related to a gastrointestinal infection. I suggest to do a stool test and a complete blood count for further evaluation.
Meanwhile, I suggest using medication to treat diarrhea such as Imodium.
I also suggest using daily probiotics. I recommend to use Tylenol to treat the chills.
