What Causes Severe Abdominal Bloating And White Vaginal Discharge After Taking Plan B?
I had unprotected sex during ovulation. I took plan b only to later find out that it works only if taken prior to LH surge. I am now experiencing excessive white thick discharge, bloating, and slight cramps. Intercourse was 9 days ago. How likely could it be that this discharge is a result from the plan B vs pregnancy?

Plan B is an emergency contraceptive that is very effective if taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex.The earlier you take, the more effective it will be.It must not only be taken before sex.Even though the pill is very effective, efficiency is not 100%.However, the symptoms you present look exaggerated 9 days after unprotected sex and may more like be caused by other medical conditions.Apart from pregnancy, the symptoms you present could be caused by a series of medical condition: STI/pelvic inflammatory diseases since just an unprotected sex exposes you to infections, UTI, digestive disorders on vaginosis or side effects of the pill.
With all these possibilities, i will suggest you get vaginal swab test, urinalysis, stool exam and a pregnancy test.If no cause is found and pregnancy test is negative, repeat the pregnancy test if you miss your period.
You may need to see a Doctor to examine you given the symptoms and do work-ups.
