What Causes Severe Abdominal Distention When Diagnosed With Esophagitis?

Just today I noticed a pouch directly above my belly button maybe four inches long. I don t have any pain, but the last few months have had severe nausea. Had a gastroscopy done about 6-8 weeks ago showing esophagitis and some erosion. Does this pouch sound like a hernia?

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, the pouch could be hernia depending on the cough impulse that is if it comes out and becomes more prominent on coughing and does that go in while lying flat? If yes then its hernia and if no then its due to esophagitis and you need to continue proton pump inhibitors and spice free diet

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
