What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain And Nausea During Menstruation?
I got my period yesterday, relatively on time (mine is irregular). Yesterday night I was awaken by abdominal pain and nausea. Although I usually have pain with my period, it has not been this bad for years, and has never once woken me up or made me nauseated. I still have the typical lower back pain and cramp but it is not nearly as bad as yesterday night anymore. I also vomited the night before but don t believe it is related. The blood was minimal and normal at first but has become watery and pale. There is also some clotting. Is this something I should be worrying about?
From your description, I believe it is a problem that warrants you seeing a doctor with it. Normally, dysmenorrhea should not be associated to nausea/vomiting. Most at times, a woman can experience severe lower abdominal crampy pain during her menses but when associated to vomiting it merits some closer look. It is possible that you might be having a miscarriage instead. It is also possible that, the severe pain might have provoked the nausea and vomiting. In any case, since this is new to you, I suggest you see a doctor.
Best wishes
