What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain And Nausea Post Cholecystectomy?

I had gallbladder surgery February 27th of this year. I just recently started getting pains in my back under my ribs a week ago, i visited my physician and she said it was a spasm and prescribed Omeprazole. This morning I woke up with excruciating pain in my right abdomen and it is also very tender to touch. I am experiencing nausea, dizziness and a overall feeling of sickness. I ve been to the VA where they just think it s in my head but this pain is unbearable. I don t know if I should go to the ER or just let it be. I m in desperate need of help.

The pain never is without any reason.Though pain after cholecystectomy is very uncommon but if it happens one should work up to reach a diagnosis.
Ist of all get an ultrasound done to get an answer to the reason of the pain. There can be a stone that is lodged in common bile duct or other ducts. As you are experiencing other symptoms besides the pain, meet up a gastroenterologist asap if feasible.
