What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain And Persistent Bleeding After Periods?

two weeks ago i started having abdominal pain as if I was getting my period. this was 2 days after finishing my period. Since I was in the pool and then in an air-conditioning room with a wet suite I thought that was the reason. I started getting heavy discharge for 2 days and then i started getting pain in my lower back and ovaries. I went to dr and all the results (vaginal test urine test came negative). this visit was on Monday 6 days ago. I should say that since Monday night I have been bleeding (started light spotting and now is became heavier). Just saw an OB dr. and he thinks this is stress related. I am in severe pain and fee as if I have been hiking all day. What should I do for my pain? I asked the dr. to send me for an ultrasound since I am concern. Please advice.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

An ultrasound may be a good idea to make sure that there are no underlying causes.

Stress can cause abnormal vaginal bleeding so this may be the cause if you are experiencing physical or emotional stress.

Stress should not cause severe pain though it may affect the response to pain so another cause should be found via the ultrasound.

I hope this helps
