What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain And Vomiting Post Flu Shot?
Hi, my son had his 6 yr check up yesterday and received a flu shot and had his blood drawn. This morning he woke up with severe stomach pain and feeling like he needed to throwup. He hasn t thrown up but is lazier than I have ever seen him. He has laid in the same spot for over 8 hours and refuses to eat or drink.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe abdominal pain and vomiting post flu shot . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like food poisoning , food allergy , infection of digestive system , gas , acid reflux , stomach flu or colic . Sometimes side effects of certain medicine can also cause such symptoms . You should take oral rehydration solution as well. I would suggest you to sips of water or other clear fluids on a very frequent basis. You should avoid solid foods for a few hours try small amounts of mild foods such as rice, applesauce and do not take foods or drinks caffeine , carbonated beverages , citrus and dairy products. If condition doesn't get better then consult gastroenterologist for proper examination and get complete examination done. Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug , antibiotics , anaspas and antacid .
