What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain Post Intake Of Food And During Bowel Movement?

Hi. I am normally a very healthy soon to be 63 year old female. 2013 had lumpectomy with 6 lympnodes removed. Had to stop estrogen intake. No chemo or radiation. Problems since with thyroid, on synthroid now. Had exray, found obstruction of esophagus at stomach entrance. Since then have stomach area pains after eating and when it is time to have bowel movement. I feel it moving through my system. I have a couple of bowel movements per day, but it almost hurts and I can almost tell where it is at inside of me. Never had health problems before. I have been in Law enforcement for over 10 years, very active and stay busy. Don t eat fast food often, maybe once a week, alcohol maybe a couple times a month, coffee one to two cups a day. puzzled...

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe abdominal pain post intake of food and during bowel movement. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gastroenteritis, lactose intolerance, electrolyte imbalance, food poisoning, irritable bowel syndrome and crohn's disease. You should take diet rich in fibers and take plenty of fluids. For now eat light and non spicy food substances. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order stool test , ultrasound , endoscopy along with that take history. Doctor may prescribe laxative , ornidazole or albendazole along with ranitidine. Tka one spoon of honey in warm water daily morning for stomach problem .You should avoid food like seafood and nuts , take antacid after every meal and keep your head elevated while lying down. You should go for exercise daily and take diet rich in fibres.
