What Causes Severe Abdominal Pains And Shakiness Of Hand?
I have been on Zocor since 1994....I am 73 years old. I haad a heart attack in 1994 and was put on 20 mg of
Zocor and it has steadily gone up over the years and am now on 80 mg. (for the past 5 years). In the past few months I can not go up or down stairs, have tingling and shakiness in my left hand...very severe abdominal pains in the left side going towards my back. Can I just quit ZOCOR cold turkey...I want to get off this statin and start feeling better again.

HI
Thanks for posting your query.
Your problems is not due to Zocor. Your shakiness in left hand could be due to either Senile Tremors which is a condition which occurs due to old age and doesn't cause any discomfort.
The other possibility is due to a disease called Parkinson's Disease . You need to consult a Neurologist for examination and evaluation for the cause .
As of your Abdominal pain , it could be due to Kidney stones or kidney infection or Pancreatitis . To know what is causing pain I advise you to get Ultrasound Abdomen Pelvis , Urine routine and Serum Lipase tests done and revert back with reports.
Kindly continue Zocor as it reduces the risk of further Heart attacks.
Hope this information was useful to you.
