What Causes Severe Anal, Vaginal Itching And A Bilateral Rash On The Leg?

I am a 43 yr old black female who started experiencing severe anal and vaginal itching about 2 months ago. I also have a bilateral leg rash that seems to come and go, sometimes I have feeling of something crawling on my legs. GYN states no gynecological issues. Dermatologist took biopsy of leg and blood work. Blood work came back negative for everything but Anemia. Biopsy showed mites, yet the signs and symptoms were a typical. I was given a cream and antibiotics to take a week a part. When it came time to take the second dose of cream and meds, the bilateral leg rash appeared again worse this time. Rash is now affecting the tops of my feet. Could I have been misdiagnosed with scabies?

Hi,

Considering these symptoms it may be caused by STD if there was recent intercourse. Another causes include is decreased levels of estrogen.

If Premarin is not helping then it can be related to decreased levels of Vitamin B12 or a mild nerve root compression at the level of the sacral spine. Keeping the area moisturized with peanut butter will also help.

You can also start taking methylcobalamin supplements and see if it helps.

If there is no improvement, get swab test and it is a fungus, take vaginal pessary and oral intake of Fluconazole. Keep the area dry and clean. Avoid excessive use of soap.
