What Causes Severe And Frequent Nose Bleeds After Removal Of Adenoids?
Hi my name is paul, and my daughter had her adenoids taken out when she was 4 and ever since then shes had nose bleeds quite severe ones and she is now 9 years old. Me and my wife have seen doctors about this but they seem not to be concerned can you shedd some answers?
The most common cause of nosebleeds in children comes from the area about a half inch to one inch within the nose on the septum (the barrier that divides the nostrils) above the nasal floor. Here, on both sides of the septum, are tiny blood vessels that can easily rupture with nose picking, when the inside of the nose is dry, or nose is blown too hard. Other reasons include:
-high blood pressure
-hay fever
-foreign object (e.g. piece of toy, nut)
Does your daughter bleed from any other site? Is she of normal weight? Does she have good appetite? Is there a family history of bleeding disorders?
You might wish to have her seen by a pediatric ENT specialist for a second opinion.
I hope I have been able to help you. Please return if you have additional questions.
