What Causes Severe And Strong Body Odor On Child?
My oldest daughter is going to be 9 in November. She s not overweight, but she is solid. My husband & I noticed body odor when she would get home from school during her first week in 1st grade. We bought her deoderant/antipersperant & explained how to use it. She is getting ready to start the 3rd grade, and this last Friday, we noticed body odor again (times 1000). We re not sure what we should do, but we don t want it to become an issue at school. She always uses deodorant with an antipersperant (Degree - solid), she showers every night before bed (She uses a body pouf & liquid body wash. Dial, Softsoap, Dove, or Bath & Body Works). We really need suggestions, please advise.

Changes in body odor can be a normal part of development, such as when an adolescent is going through puberty. During puberty, sweat glands and hormones become more active, which can cause body odor. Stress, anxiety, hyperhidrosis disorder where excess ,abnormal sweating occurs which may cause body odor and frequent infections.
Vitamin deficiencies ,food intolerance, skin infections may also cause body odor in children. Certain foods can also cause strong body odor. Anti-perspirants contain aluminium-based compounds that temporarily block sweat pores, thereby reducing the amount of perspiration that reaches your skin.
