What Causes Severe Ankle Pain After Persistent Running?
I am a moderate runner and log about 18 to 20 miles a week. I am having a pain in my right ankle area for about 2 months and it seems to be getting worse. While running today (4 miles) I thought I was going to have to stop about 10 times due to pain. It almost feels like a high ankle sprain however I am positive it is not a sprain. The outside ankle bone hurts and my lower tibia or tibia hurts up to my calf muscle. It feels like my ankle could snap any moment because it doesn t feel strong. There is no swelling or discoloration. Pain level is about a 7 on a scale of 10 being the worst. Have you heard of symptoms like this before? stress fracture? Thank you
it is related to long running. stop running for few days. use ankle cap and apply analgesic ointment. take oral analgesic anti inflammatory like tab combiflam, twice daily after food. with this you will improve to normalcy.
