What Causes Severe [aon In The Neck And Shoulder?

Woke up Tuesday with horrible neck pain, and thought I slept funny. By that night, my shoulders and back were pretty sore, but thought maybe my neck being so stiff had caused my back to go out a little bit. Wednesday morning I woke up with severe pain in my feet, right below my toes, which I know suggests neck issues from my reflexology report, so I went and got a massage on Friday. Felt pretty good most of the day, except that I noticed a rash on most of body within about an hour of getting a massage. Got to bed and my hips had really bad pains all night. Now today, my arms and legs feel like they have a ton of pressure in them, kind of like the feeling when the blood pressure cup is on my arm at a doctors office. My arms and legs are super tender, which could be from the massage yesterday, but they re starting to feel like they have pins and needles in them and they re starting to get really achy. My neck and shoulders are still pretty sore, but my mid-section is about the only part of me that isn t hurting, other than some constipation. My feet and hands are also ridiculously itchy and the rash hasn t gone away completely yet. I have a cough every once in a while, but I just don t feel well overall. It feels a little tight when I swallow and my body feels swollen from the inside. My arms and legs have been in constant pain all day. I feel like my neck is out a little bit, which the massage therapist also suggested, but I don t understand the pain and pins and needles feeling in my arms and legs. Any suggestions??? I hate walking into the doctors office with $100 bill just to walk through the door, and then whatever else they want to charge you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persists better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated.

You can go for an MRI scan to rule out possible causes like cervical spondylitis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
