What Causes Severe Arthritic Pain Despite Taking Medication?

I am 80 years old and have been taking 10 mg of crestor and 145 mg of lipidil for app. 18 months and have found arthritis type pain is getting serius. Should I discontinue with the medication and for how long? My general health is very good apart from the aches and pains that are affecting my mobility.

Welcome to Health care magic.

i understand your concern but i would like to tell you that medications can give temporary relief and as age advances the joint space reduces due to less secretion of lubricating fluid(synovial fluid as it is called).
This results in increased friction between the adjoining bones in knee.
Medication should not be discontinued as discontinuing medications would make pain unbearable.
So i would advice you to visit a orthopaedics doctor or a joint replacement specialist for further opinion and other options available.
Hope i have answered your queries.

Thanks
