What Causes Severe Back Pain And Diarrhea Post Gall Bladder Removal?
Hi earlier today I had severe back pain and upper stomach pain that resulted in dihareaha and extreme vomiting before the pain subsided. This has happened twice within the last 2 months and I recently had my gall bladder removed January 21st. Any idea what s going on with me or suggestions to prevent this from happening agian? Thanks in advance.
I don't think your symptoms are concerned with gall bladder surgery Yes, it can sometimes disturb the fat absorption and hence we say to eat less fatty food and spicy food after surgery
But Back pain, diarrhoea, extreme vomiting, denote a serious GI infection. You should get a stool culture done and based on the report, complete a course of antibiotics.
If the symptoms recur after the antibiotic course, then, get a upper GI endoscopy and an ultrasound scan abdomen done, to see if any other causes exist.
Hope this helps!
Best Regards Dr Chaithanya
