What Causes Severe Back Pain On The Right Side?
I have severe pain in my back/side, only on the right side. I came on suddenly and is getting more painful, throbs along with shooting pains from belt line to shoulder blade. OTC meds don t touch it. I ve experienced no injury/trauma to the area. Should I go the emergency room?

Yes, you need to visit the ER regarding the pain. From your history, it seems like you need to consult the physician who can do ultrasonography to rule out problems like cholecystitis or pain due to any renal causes.
Till you reach the hospital then you can take a tablet of omeprazole 20mg over the counter to reduce the pain a little if it is due to gastritis. Going to the hospital is important as you will be managed better.
