my mother age is 60+ she had back pain from last year ....Some days before we x-ray her l.s spine ap & lat view ....found bones are osteopenic. there is slight scoliotic deformity Is noted. intervertebral disc space is reduce at L1-L-3, L2-L-3,L3-L4, & L-5S1 level. marginal osteophytes are noted at multiple levels. vertebrae are normal in height.
Good day and thank you for posting this question. One of the risk factor for osteopenia that you Mummy has is her age (60+) and Menopause. Other thing that could increase her risk is if she smokes, take alcohol, some drugs like furosemidelithium. And sometimes a cause might not be found. I hope it helps. Thank you.
