Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was started on phentermine 2 days ago by doctor and am having extremely loud long uncomfortable belching every few min sometimes. Im eatin healthy and drinking fluid ive never had a belching issue ever before rarely even get gassy. Why is this happening?
Any drug can lead to this acid/ gaseous issue when taken. If you are unable to tolerate this drug, either reduce dose or you need to change it. I would like to know for which specific cause was this drug started for, so that I can advise you some alternate treatment. It is from a group of amphetamines which can lead to anxiety tachycardia and nervousness, belching may be a part of this whole spectrum.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammad Faisal Bacha, Internal Medicine Specialist
