What Causes Severe Body Pain Long After Treating Arteriosclerosis?

My husband has suffered from arterial schlorosis for 7 years. He has had two surgeries although he has terrible pain and he has tried every medicine available without getting any relief. He has become very depressed. He was a pro athlete and had many injuries in his career. He is now 83, still otherwise good health - but lately his pain is a 10 - maybe more. Not sleeping.

1)Has he pain more than 3 months?

2)Has he any cramping on lower abdomen?

3)Any family member suffering from fibromyalgia?
