What does the following actually mean? Scattered subcortical, deep, and periventricular white matter hypodensities are identified. The ventricles, sulci, and cisterns are mildly symmetrically enlarged consistent with generalized volume loss. Arteriosclerosis of the internal carotid arteries is detected. Mildly increases microangiopathic ischemic disease with generalized volume loss and Arteriosclerosis.

Are changes are age related changes . Hypodensities mentioned are due age related vascular changes . It is normal finding. It has mentioned to avoid confusion from infarct which may look similar.
As age increases there is decrease in volume of brain which makes changes as prominent sucli and gyri.
In short there is no significant abnormality. So need not to worry.
