Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been experiencing severe bouts of hypoglycemia since my Roue-en-Y 13 years ago. An endocrinologist suggested that I could have Nesidioblastosis. I try to control low blood sugar readings with diet but it is getting more difficult as I life in a retirement facility with food provided for me. Metformin and Acabose are ineffective. Do you think taking insulin is indicated?
If you have been suffering from hypoglycemia, why would you want to take insulin to help further reduce your blood glucose levels? Hypoglycemia is low blood glucose levels and can be controlled with small meals more frequently. Avoid taking any medications that can interfere with your blood glucose levels.
Best wishes.
