HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Burning discomfort is likely related to abnormal function of the nerves in the area, this is called neuropathy.

Neuropathy can be temporary or permanent and there are different possible causes.
Diabetes is one cause and this has been ruled out.

Other causes are: (1)trauma to the nerves - for example arthritis in the back where the nerves come out from, can cause numbness.
The changes due to arthritis can compress the nerves

(2)low levels of vitamin b12 and folate
(3)liver or kidney disease
(4)abnormal levels of vitamin b6
(5)thyroid disease
(6)infections such as shingles can also cause abnormal sensations
(7)side effect of medication
(8)neurological conditions such as stroke or ms

These are some of the causes. Physical examination and blood tests would be needed to find the definite cause of your symptoms.
Blood tests may include complete blood count, thyroid function tests, kidney and liver tests, vitamin levels

Treatment would depend slightly on the cause found but there are medications that are used for nerve related pain.
They are normally combined with pain medications.

Medications such as gabapentin, lyrica, amitriptyline, nortriptyline, tegretol

I hope this helps
