What Causes Severe Burning Pain In The Upper Thigh?

Hello I am in my fifties and on my feet most of my work day and have noticed a severe burning pain in my upper thigh. I looked up what it could be and think it is meralgia paresthetica. I was wondering if there are any exercises I can do to help with the pain. I do not want to go the drug or surgery route is there anything you can suggest?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
It can be nerve compression at lumber spine/ sciatic notch/hip joint.
An orthopedic surgeon's consultation & x ray of relevant part would pin point the cause .
( Such pain is usually treated with pain medicines. physiotherapy or surgery as per the extent of compression).
You can know weather it is treatable with exercises alone. & learn about the specific exercises needed to relieve the symptoms under a physiotherapist's guidance.
Thanks.
