What Causes Severe Burning Sensation In Penis After Having Intercourse?

My boyfriend had a lot of blood in his semen and he now told me he felt a burning sensation after he had sex with me. However the burning situation goes away for him once he drinks plenty of water. I have no symptoms of anything abnormal. Could I have something and not know and are his symptoms signs of anything?
