What Causes Severe Burning Sensation In The Balls Of The Feet?

Since March I have been having foot challenges. I have worn Good Feed arch supports since 2002 but since March my feet have been burning especially on the balls of my feet. I went back to Good Feet store but the orthotics that they suggested this time only made my feet worse. I square dancing 1-2x/week. My dance shoes have very thin soles and I notice the bottom of my feet burn after dancing for a couple of hours. Also, I try to walk at least 6,000-10,000 steps/day. I have new sneakers this year. Should I see an orthotic specialist or return to my GP? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I do put ice on the bottom of my feet when they burn. Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

* As the burning raises after particular activities, there is more chance of heel fat pad issue as plantar calcaneal spur or others.

* Systemic cause of B12 deficiency or else has to be ruled out with expert orthopedic surgeon consultation.

Hope I have answered your query.
