What Causes Severe Burning Sensation In The Thighs?
Hi, my name is Kory, I am trying to see what common health issues involve the following: extreme fire-like thighs and can not be touched even with a sheet on the bed...2 insidents were down right pain for like 20 minutes straight, they started out just lasting 20 seconds at a time, now its in both legs. the sever one {I literally run for an ice pack and try to burn the fire out-lol, I know that;s not possible}
Burning sensation in the leg could be due to peripheral neuropathy or decreased blood flow to the legs. Physical examination, nerve conduction studies, leg Doppler study to assess blood flow, blood sugar levels to rule out diabetes are warranted at this point. Management of peripheral neuropathy is with anti seizure medication like Gabapentin and stringent blood sugar control.
Please be advised to follow up with your primary care provider for further evaluation and management
