What Causes Severe Burping Post Food Intake?

HI Doc! After I eat, am full and continuously burping for the next half an hour. When I belch, I get food particles which are not chewed properly. Am taking probiotics and colon cleansers to reduce flatulence and improve digestion. I used to take omeprazole, but that was a timely remedy. Am looking out for a solution to end this. Am 23 and this has bothered my loife very much!

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you to consult your gastroenterologist for upper gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy to look for status of upper GI mucosa. Burping and regurgitation can lead to inflammation of esophageal mucosa.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
