What Causes Severe Chest Pain And Excessive Sweating?

A 40 Yr old male patient suffered from bilateral pleuritic chest pain with sweating.vital signs stable spo2 96% on air.He had history of hip operation for trochanteric fracture a week ago.blood test revealed leukocytocytosis 14×109.CRP raised.d dimer elevated 5 times normal.CTPA was negative for P E and showed bilateral segmental consolidations..apart from mild exertional chest pain so far stable.He is on LMWeight heparin and antibiotics.Could that be PE or Infection? Should he be on anticoagulations? Thank you

Hi,

All the symptoms you mentioned and added to it with no findings on ECG or ECHO might point towards something systemic cause that can result in these symptoms.

Hyperthyroidism can cause all the symptoms that you mentioned here.

I would suggest you to get a thyroid level study done to see whether that is a cause of your problem. Doing a TSH, T3 and T4 should be done.

Kindly do the above said study and get back with me with the reports or consult your doctor with the same.
