What Causes Severe Chest Pain, Vomiting And Headache Despite Taking Nitroglycerin?

I hope you are really here. my mom is 56 years old, has taken 2 nitros and about to take her third one. for the past 2 hrs that I am aware she has had such severe chest pain she can barely talk on the phone, has been throwing up and is complaining of her head hurting as well. she wont listen to me to go to the hospital because of how much snow is out. should I call an ambulance if she wont listen? is this a silent heart attack??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I appreciate your concern for your beloved mother.
From the history given the severe chest pain & vomiting seem to be resulting from the acute coronary syndrome or 'hear attack' (due to decreased blood supply to the heart). Headache occurs due to the side effect of Nitroglycerine tablets. She needs to taken to the hospital immediately so activate the ambulance services for an early transportation and immediate treatment in the ER. Hope this helps.
