What Causes Severe Chest Pain?

Good evening, i think i have esophagitis according to the symptom checker. i have REALLY bad chest pain on a scale from 1-10 i d say 20 (it leaves me in tears) It has gotten so bad i wake up everyday with it. i cant eat, drink, barley sleep. Tums help none, it s kind of like a dying feeling. i cant function. it use to stop when i eat first thing in the morning but now its gotten to bad if i eat in the morning it still in pain. is there something i can take that can avoid a trip to the DR.Office?

Hello,

It could be an acid reflux. As of now, you can take antacids like omeprazole or pantoprazole for symptomatic relief.

Avoid spicy foods. If symptoms persist you can consult a gastroenterologist and plan for an endoscopy.
