What Causes Severe Chills And Headache?

Hi. My name is tanya smith and i need advice on what i need to do. I have had a mild to moderate pain in my right side for about 4days. It went away yesterday but had returned with a vengeance. It started around my middle and is now beep in my side just above my hip. I am having temperatures ranging from 78.6 down to 76.3. Having the chills and a feeling pretty crappy. Few other things ...i thought i had a urine infection although it didn t feel the same (had many) going to toilet alot but cant do a number 2. Major headache. A friend said it could be kidney stones or appendicitis. Should i see you tonight or? ?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms are definitely consistent with a possible kidney or bladder infection. The pain in the side traveling downward toward the hip could also be that of a passing kidney stone. The temperature readings that you've put above are not accurate since 78 and 76 degrees are not compatible with life. You likely meant to put 98 and 96 but at any rate, it doesn't sound like you've got a fever.

Bottom line is that you should be examined by a doctor (either your own or at an URGENT CARE) and probably get some testing done such as urine and blood to see what all might be causing this picture.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
