What Causes Severe Cold And Cough With Sharp Pain In The Pelvis?
I ve had a severe cold with lots of coughing. Last night I had a really bad coughing spell and there was a very sharp pain at the top of my pelvis on the right side, slightly to the back. Did I pull a muscle? It s really bad today if I cough or move wrong.
Persistent bouts of a cough can cause severe pain in the abdominal wall which may subside in a few days and requires no medication. You may try using hot water or wheat bag to minimize the pain.
On a few occasions, particularly in people with a weak abdominal wall like obese, women with a history of multiple pregnancies, previous history of abdominal surgery in past may develop Hernia after severe episodes of a cough.
If the pain worsens or does not subside in a few days consult a doctor as you might need an through abdominal examination and investigation like ultrasound.
