What Causes Severe Cold, respiratory Infection And Breathlessness?
HI I have had a severe cold for the past five days. Yesterday I developed a very tender area under my right breast (the left side of the right breast (where it connects to my chest. It is tender to the touch but does not otherwise hurt. I m experiencing shortness of breath, which is in line with the respiratory infection, and a fairly fastened heartbeat. How do I know where I should go to the doctor? Thanks, Michele
As per your query you have symptoms of severe cold, respiratory infection and breathlessness which seems to be due to severe upper respiratory tract infection.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to
- Take proper course of antibiotics along with anti allergics like Levocetrizine.
- Take anti inflammatory painkiller medication along with Acetaminophen.
- Take cough expectorants and decongestants like Phenylephrine.
- Avoid outside food.
- Do warm saline gargles.
If symptoms keeps on persisting, visit pulmonologist once and get complete examination done. You should get X-ray chest done and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
