What Causes Severe Constipation After Taking Oxerute CD?
I m suffering from type 2 hemmerhoid, with bleeding. My doctor prescribed me Oxerute CD tab in the morning and evening before food. I ve noticed that it has increased constipation to a very large extent. Is the dose correct? Should I take it only once before food?
Oxerute-CD is a combination of two medicines troxerutin and calcium dobesilate used to promote healing of the hemorrhoids. It is recommended dose is 600 mg - 1200 mg daily in two equal divided doses either before or after the food. It does not cause constipation. I advise you to drink plenty of fluids, increased the intake of fruits and vegetables or consult with your doctor if constipation does not go away.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
