What Causes Severe Constipation Along With Abdominal Pain Post Cholecystectomy?
I had my gall bladder removed the 24th of July and I had not had a bowel movement in 5 days after that I went to the ER in excruciating pain they admitted me and did test but didn t find anything so they sent me home I m still in excruciating pain and I have had bowel movements but nothing I can say that relieved any pressure if I get out of bed I hurt I haven t eaten in 5 days my question what can I do to stop all this pain and be able to eat finally and find some relief the pain is unbearable
Since your stools are hard and impacted due to not passing for days, laxatives or enema may be required. Yes, I would suggest you to visit your physician and do an enema. The cause of constipation which could be lack of mobility, long term medications or dietary causes which should be identified and treated. Dehydration should also be prevented. Maintaining healthy fibre diet and adequate hydration in the following days can avoid constipation.
