What Causes Severe Constipation Post Hernia Repair Surgery?
Had a hernia repair done four weeks ago,I was regular before the surgery,but now I'm not regular. I'm off any types of pain killers,I have fiber and water in my diet and still unable to go or do I feel like I have to. I have taken stool softness ,laxatives ...can't seem to get back on one a day BM

Hi,
It seems that there might be having absolute constipation after hernia surgery.
This can be due to deposition of fecolith i.e. hard fecal material.
In this case routine laxatives might not be effective.
You might require enema for evacuation of hard fecal material.
continue taking more fiber containing food.
Take plenty of water.
Ok and take care.
