What Causes Severe Cough And Difficulty In Swallowing?

When I swallow there feels like an object is attached to my lower left tonsil. It has been getting progressively bigger over the last few days. At least it feels that way. Throat had been sore for over a weak. Negative step, negative mono. When I swallow liquid seeps into trachea and I cough more. What do you recommend for me to do.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You probably behavioral or allergic swelling of adenoids (that lie behind tonsils)in throat. Possibly associated with sinus involvement.
Saline gargles and vapor inhalation /drinking warm water would help. Anti inflammatory pills and anti-allergic pills over the counter taken after meals twice a day would help.

In case there is no relief or the condition deteriorate in a couple of days. you should consult an ENT specialist for needful antibiotic and other medications like steroids.

Hope I have answered your query.
