What Causes Severe Cough And Excessive Sweating While Recovering From Cold?
Hi, I am getting over a cold. On the way to work I wear my winter coat, I unzip it on the tram as it is very warm. When I get to work my shirt sleeves are soaking wet! I have had the cold since Tuesday and I feel 100% fine just have a cough. I do not have a fever. Why am I sweating so much?
Cough can last a while after we go through viral infection and it is not worrisome as long as you continue to get better and have no new symptoms. Sweating as well is fine if you do not have fever (you may need to check your temperature).
Normally, you should be much better with these in 1-2 weeks. If you continue to have these symptoms longer than that please see your doctor.
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
