Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the 2nd time in two months I have a violent hacking cough. First episode Aug 13-27...felt good for 32 days...it returned Sept 29 thru today. The cough comes with white mucus and sometime it is difficult to get the mucus up. I am a bit winded and fatigued. No fever or chills however I have nighttime sweats...enough so I have to remove my t-shirt. I am 68 years old..never smoked and do not drink.
Hi, It seems that you might be having chronic bronchitis giving this problem. Go for, x-ray chest, Complete blood checking including ESR and Eosinophil count. Consult your doctor and rule out COPD. After all reports go for treatment accordingly. Do deep breathing exercises. Ok and take care.
