Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a ng tube inserted for a bowel blockage. The tube was taken out Friday 2 days ago...blockage was gone. I have an intermittent cough and my throat is slightly sore...the cough comes and go and it s a cough in my throat not a chest cough it s sometimes makes me gag..is this normal after removal of the tube?
I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but these symptoms are normal after tube removal due to the injury of the mucosa. Please avoid spicy, very hot or cold drinks and try to stick to soft easily swallowed foods to fasten the recovery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Salah Saad Shoman,
Internal Medicine Specialist
