What Causes Severe Cough And Vomiting At Midnight?

My son had broncotis since 9th of August two rounds of antibiotics and they put him on breathing machine with a steroid and albuteral twice a day until he finished antibiotics. After the 10 days was over he sound better. But the weird thing is everyday nite since between 11pm to 12am like clock work he has a coughing fit an usually involves throwing up. Yesterday day took him back to doctor and she put him on Cingular chewables. He has never being dionosed with asthma. As of this morning he is starting to cough and sound congested all over again. He has never being dionosed with allergies as well. Any advise?

Hi Thank you for choosing HCM. I can understand how the problem is annoying you. Cough though it is considered as a simple problem it irritates us like anything. It has so many reasons. If you are using any mosquito repellents in your home please avoid that as the chemicals cause allergy like symptoms in some people. If you are using any air cooler , then the dust coming from that also causes allergy like symptoms. Sorry , I don't the age of your son. If he is school going and taking his exams he might be stressed which results in gastritis , irritating diaphragm causing cough. If he is having fever or breathlessness his cardiac status has to be checked. Don't be panic. He will be better soon.
