What Causes Severe Cough And Wheezing?

I went to a urgent care was unable to get into my own dr....I have had a very barky cough and now when I prop myself up to self I have developed a wheeze when I breath out....cough continues. I am on augmentin, considering trying to get into my own dr the symptoms have not changed, should they have gotten better by now
