Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 35 years old. I workout 5 to 6 days per week. I have had a real bad cough for approx. 4 mos now. It activates as soon as I become comfortable enough to sleep and even more often now. It s a cough mixed with a choking sensation. It makes me feel as if I m going to blackout, fore it makes me light-headed at times. After the coughing episodes my nose starts to run (mucus is clear in color) and sweat comes from my forehead. I ve seen 2 different physicians they both said that it maybe allergies even though, I have never in my life had any allergies. I was prescribed a steroid and a Z pack the 1st time. That didn t work. The 2nd time I was told to try OTC medications (Nasacort, Zyrtec and Allegra) for 30 days. Those too are not working. It actually seems to be getting worse. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this before.
