My boyfriend started with a cold that settled into his chest causing severe coughing with mucus. I finally had him see a doctor that prescribed a cough suppressant/antihistamine. The mucus subsided but the cough has not so they refilled the cough syrup and put him on steroids. Now he says it feels like he broke a rib from coughing (I think its pleurisy and possibly walking pneumonia because of his constant pain and fatigue) and is always in pain when coughing or moves a certain way. He actually collapsed while coughing from the pain 2 days ago. He now is in the mindset that he was healthy before I made him see a doctor and will now heal himself. It has been over a month now, and I can't stand to see him like this. Is there anything short of a doctor visit you can suggest to help him get better? He REFUSES to go back to his doctor. Please help us!
