Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of ssevere coughing and phlegm which is due to lungs infection and upper respiratory tract infection. Need not to panic about it. I would suggest you to avoid allergens such as environment pollutants. You should take steam inhalation with vaporizers. Avoid cold beverages and keep sipping warm water. Take combination of antihistamine and oral antibiotic such as Bactoclav for 3 days. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order certain test like throat swab test , viral culture test, CT scan and X-ray of upper respiratory tract . Doctor may prescribe antibiotic amoxicillin or penicillin at least along with decongestant , expectorant and anti histamine .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
