General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Long and strong spells of cough can cause stress to abdominal muscles resulting in your problem. This cough can be due to allergy (bronchitis, asthma) / infection (viral, bacterial) in origin. Systematic physical examination along with needful investigations would find the cause followed by specific treatment. Please consult a chest physician.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
