Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Maybe two, three times a year I will get a severe right leg (I m guessing)groin cramp. It is not in front but more in-between my quad and hamstring. I goes from my groin area to about my knee. It gets to the point that it feels like my muscle fibers are ripping and it has brought me to tears. The whole episode lasts between 10 and 15 minutes. It happens in afternoon or evening. I can t straighten my leg to walk it off. My leg is at about a 45 degree bend. What can it be?
Your symptoms seem to be related to a muscle cramp. I suggest using a muscle relaxant such as Baclofen three times a day. I also suggest using magnesium supplement. I recommend gentle stretching exercises.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
